This paper introduces a promising hybrid lossless image compression method by combining the wavelet transform along with a hierarchal non-linear polynomial approximation model to com-press natural and medical images. The test results showed good performance in which the compression ratio is improved about three times or more on average in compered with the results of a non-linear coding system that does not adopt the techniques used in this research.Metrics
