4. Description Abstract Continuous wavelet transformation (C.W.T) by MATLAB technique has been used to study the relations between the sunspot cycles (solar activity) with annual precipitation over Iraq (for about 10 cycles). Results indicated that the sunspot numbers have three main periods, around 11, 21 and 33 years, while the precipitation has the same periods in addition to a small period (3-7years). By applying moving average according to the periodicities that found by continuous wavelet transformation, relations between solar cycles were closely related to the annual precipitation over Iraq.
