Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Al-Mustansiriah Journal of Science (MJS) is a scientific quarterly peer-reviewed research journal issued by the college of science, Mustansiriya University, Baghdad, IRAQ.  

The Journal publishes new and original research papers and articles, in five different research areas:

1.  Chemistry

2.  Biology

3.  Physics

4.  Computer science

5.  Mathematics

6.  Atmospheric Science

on the basis of scientific originality and interdisciplinary interest.

The editorial board, consulted committee and reviewers, composed of prominent scientists from Iraqi Universities, are representative of the disciplines covered by the journal. The journal accepts papers in English and Arabic languages, all submitted papers is checked for plagiarism using anti-plagiarism programs.

Peer Review Process

The Journal review type is double-blind peer review process for reviewing articles. All submitted articles will be applied to a third-party plagiarism software (e.g., Turnitin, etc.) to check the originality of its contents. For accepted articles with revision, a second plagiarism check may apply in order to ensure the originality of the revised version.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The statements are developed according to the Publishing ethics resource kit, COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines and in compliance with Elsevier recommendations.

So, it is important to agree upon specifications of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editors, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society.
